Baiduri Bank announces CEO leadership transition

Baiduri Bank yesterday announced the appointment of Dr Cédric Derras to succeed Ti Eng Hui as Baiduri Bank’s Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) following Ti’s retirement on October 25, 2026.

Cédric Derras’ appointment as the Group CEO is part of the bank’s succession plan to ensure leadership continuity as the bank looks to new strategic opportunities for growth in Brunei and internationally.

Before joining Baiduri Bank, Cédric Derras was the Head of Asia-Pacific region and Chief Executive of the Singapore branch of UniCredit, one of Europe’s major banking groups. He brings with him more than 25 years of international banking experience across Europe, the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific.

Baiduri Bank Chairman Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Muda Dr Abdul Fattaah said, “Ti Eng Hui has served Baiduri Bank with distinction since he joined the bank as a young executive 30 years ago and as our Group CEO since 2019. This leadership transition takes place at a time of strength for our bank, to which Ti has contributed significantly. During his tenure as Group CEO, Baiduri Bank has transformed to become a leading financial institution recognised both locally and internationally, delivering exceptional financial results for shareholders and a growing regional business.”

Ti Eng Hui said, “It has been a great privilege to lead Baiduri Bank as Group CEO and to work alongside colleagues who care deeply about the bank and the country we serve. I am proud of what we have achieved together and the strong foundation we have built for the future. Baiduri Bank is well positioned for its next phase of growth, and I look forward to supporting a smooth handover to Cédric.”

Cédric Derras said, “I am honoured to be joining Baiduri Bank at a time of strong momentum and clear ambition for the future. The bank plays an important role in supporting its customers, communities and Brunei’s wider development. I look forward to building on what is already in place, supporting the development of the bank’s people and capabilities, and pursuing new opportunities for growth across the region while continuing our long-standing commitment to Brunei.”

Baiduri Bank was established in Brunei Darussalam in 1994 and is today one of Brunei Darussalam’s two systemic financial institutions with a global credit rating of A-/A-2 from the global rating agency, S&P Global.
