The Education Bureau of the Village Consultative Council (MPK) of Lamunin marked a milestone with the successful organisation of its first Basic Sign Language Workshop, concluding with a certificate presentation ceremony yesterday.
Deputy Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at the Ministry of Education Dr Eddy Fadzlin bin Haji Amdan, the guest of honour, encouraged participants to continue sharing the knowledge and skills they acquired with those in their surroundings.
He emphasised that participants play an important role in promoting inclusivity by facilitating the dissemination of information and bridging communication gaps with members of the special needs community.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Doa led by Muhd AminYusof bin Muhd Arifin to seek blessings.
Village Head of Kampong Lamunin PW1 (Rtd) Saini bin Haji Othman, in his capacity as Chairman of MPK Lamunin, delivered a welcoming address expressing gratitude and pride over the commitment by all involved in making the workshop a success.
A total of 12 participants were celebrated for completing the intensive morning and afternoon workshop sessions.
Three participants received best achievement awards, evaluated through practical observations and tests conducted throughout the programme.
Attendees, participants, and organising committee members gathered for a commemorative group photograph. The programme, held on September 25 and 27, 2026, took place at Pusat Kemasyarakatan Dataran Gong Tiga in Kampong Lamunin.
