Sporting communities across Belait District gathered to celebrate a tradition spanning more than 80 years at the Brunei Shell Recreation Club (BSRC) Sports Festival 2026 on Sunday.
The festival brought together sports enthusiasts, young athletes, fitness communities, families and the public for a day of sporting, recreational and competitive activities.
Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Aliuddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, attended the opening ceremony as the guest of honour.
The festival aimed to promote an active and healthy lifestyle, while providing members of the public with an opportunity to discover and experience the various sports and recreational facilities.
A wide range of sporting activities were organised, with sports enthusiasts and the public exploring and taking part in activities including football, swimming, martial arts, running, fitness and other recreational activities.
One of the main highlights was the 10KM Run, which drew more than 200 runners from across the country.
Other activities included fitness sessions and sporting demonstrations designed to encourage participation among people of different ages and fitness levels.
