With the get-together ceremony held in the Belait District, residents and community leaders across the district expressed their heartfelt greetings in celebration of the 80th birthday celebration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
Nazrullah bin Abdul Razak attending the get-together, recalled how, despite having attended the get-together ceremonies from previous years, he could still feel the excitement in meeting and greeting His Majesty during such a momentous occasion.
He said he feels grateful to be able to attend the celebration as a resident in the Belait District, adding that his hope is the same as many Belait residents attending the venue, as they wish His Majesty a happy birthday.
For seasoned visitor to the get-together ceremony in the Belait District, like Bobby from the Tiong Hua Community, the grand celebration also provides an opportunity to capture the occasion.
He noted that previously, he had composed a series of posters to commemorate get-together ceremonies in the Belait District dating back to 2024.
He said he edited the posters himself and expressed gratitude to be able to present them to His Majesty each year to be signed in remembering the get-together ceremony held annually in the Belait District. Meanwhile, community leaders, Penghulu of Mukim Belait Abdul Afiq bin Zainuddin reflected on the theme of the special performance held as part of the get-together celebration in the Belait District, noting that a distinguished monarch will always nurture outstanding people, while outstanding people will continue to uphold the sovereignty of their monarch.
He also offered his thoughts on the theme, noting that embracing it means demonstrating love for the nation through actions, not merely words.
Abdul Afiq added that being an honest, principled, and disciplined citizen, willing to serve the community and preserving unity, is a true expression of loyalty to His Majesty.
He noted that when every citizen fulfils their role faithfully and responsibly, Brunei will continue to stand as a peaceful, prosperous, and blessed nation, as stated in Surah Saba, verse 15, “A good land [have you], and a forgiving Lord.”
Similarly, Village Head of PN Lumut Area 3 Rosli bin Haji Jais highlighted the significance of the theme as a reminder for citizens and residents to be responsible and disciplined.
He added that the contribution of individuals to the society according to one’s ability, while also working together, can help preserve the nation’s peace and harmony.
