Big-hearted community joins blood donation

The Brunei Malay Teachers Association (PGGMB), as part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives, contributed 40 pints of blood to the blood bank during a blood donation campaign on September 12, involving teachers, staff and parents from schools under the administration of PGGMB Sungai Akar School.

In her welcoming remarks, PGGMB Sungai Akar School Principal Maswati Airin Patrah binti Ahmad, said the blood donation drive was an annual school project aimed at encouraging teachers to donate blood and parents or guardians of pupils to participate in the initiative.

She highlighted that blood donation is a charitable act that can provide assistance to those requiring blood, while also serving as a form of ongoing charity.

PGGMB President Haji Mustapa bin Haji Masri, accompanied by the PGGMB Permanent Chairman Hajah Hanipah binti Hani Apong, school teachers and guardians of children at PGGMB kindergartens were among the participants.

The campaign aimed to encourage teachers and parents to donate blood.

The annual initiative also serves as one of PGGMB’s contributions towards supporting the nation and helping ensure an adequate supply of blood for those in need.
