Bilateral Cooperation Meeting

Key areas of investigation and prevention, as well as the exchange of best practices in the implementation of anti-corruption operations were among the matters highlighted during the 16th Bilateral Cooperation Meeting between the Anti-Corruption Bureau, ACB and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, MACC. The meeting took place at Dewan An- Naura, Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex in Bandar Seri Begawan. The meeting reaffirmed the longstanding commitment between both agencies, established for more than two decades, in strengthening synergy and strategic cooperation to enhance the effectiveness of joint efforts in preventing and combating corruption comprehensively.

 

The meeting was co-chaired by Datin Paduka Hajah Anifa Rafiza binti Haji Abd Ghani, Director of the Anti-Corruption Bureau and Yang Berbahagia Tan Sri Dato' Sri Haji Azam bin Baki, Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission. During the meeting, the ACB shared notable achievements in handling misconduct cases within the public service under the Prevention of Corruption Act, Chapter 131; initiatives carried out in collaboration with various agencies to cultivate a culture of integrity and awareness in combating corruption.

 

Meanwhile, the MACC shared its experiences and strategies in conducting preventive and investigative programmes, including initiatives to strengthen organization integrity and anti-corruption education efforts in Malaysia. The meeting also addressed the importance of training and capacity building to enhance officers' knowledge, skills and competencies in executing their anti-corruption duties effectively.
