A total of 83 pints of blood were collected during the Elken Brunei Blood Donation Campaign 2026, which saw 110 people register as donors.
The campaign at Elken Crown Hall, Kiulap, was organised by Elken Brunei in collaboration with the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital Blood Donation Centre, Ministry of Health.
The campaign was officially launched by its chairman, Alfian bin Haji Maskur, who also delivered the opening remarks.
The campaign themed ‘A Drop of Blood, A Million Hopes’, aimed to raise public awareness of the importance of voluntary blood donation while helping meet the needs of patients requiring blood transfusions and treatment.
Alfian emphasised that blood donation not only demonstrated compassion and volunteerism, but could also help save the lives of those in need.
Successful donors received souvenirs and certificates of appreciation. Light refreshments were also provided.
The organisers hope the initiative will encourage more members of the public to donate blood voluntarily and regularly. – Lyna Mohamad
