Brunei-Muara, Belait air quality falls to moderate

Air quality in Brunei-Muara and Belait deteriorated to moderate levels by 2pm Wednesday, with both districts recording increases of more than 20 PSI points from the morning readings.

Brunei-Muara’s Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) rose from 31 at 9am to 52 at 2pm, while Belait increased from 33 to 53.

Both districts moved from the good to moderate category, where PSI readings range from 51 to 100.

Meanwhile, Temburong saw its PSI fall from 50 to 30, while Tutong declined from 26 to 21. Both remained in the good category.

The latest readings mean air quality across the four districts remained within the good-to-moderate range at 2pm, with no district recording an unhealthy level.

JASTRe has been incorporating PM2.5 concentrations into the country’s PSI reporting since September 1 and continues to issue updates at 7am, 9am, 11am, 2pm and 4pm during the hazy period.
