JASTRe, in a joint advisory with the Ministry of Health and the Fire and Rescue Department, said air quality would continue to be monitored, with PSI updates issued five times daily at 7am, 9am, 11am, 2pm and 4pm during the hazy period.

Since September 1, fine particulate matter (PM2.5) concentrations have been incorporated into Brunei Darussalam’s PSI reporting.

PM2.5 refers to fine particles less than 2.5 micrometres in diameter that can penetrate deep into the lungs and enter the bloodstream, potentially affecting the cardiovascular and respiratory systems.
