Brunei Super League matches postponed due to haze

The opening matches of the Brunei Super League 2026/27 season scheduled for Saturday were postponed due to the ongoing haze situation in the country.

According to the Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (FABD), the decision prioritised the health, safety and well-being of all players, match officials and supporters following the latest Pollutant Standard Index (PSI) readings released by the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation (JASTRe).

Current levels across several districts indicated unhealthy air quality, making strenuous outdoor physical activities unsafe.

The affected matches were between MS PPDB and DPMM FC II, which was scheduled to take place on Saturday night (September 5) at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium, and Jerudong FC against BSRC FC at the Berakas Sports Complex.

A new match date will be announced in due course once air quality returns to safe operational levels.

FABD also expressed its apologies for any inconvenience caused and thanked all teams, partners and supporters for their understanding.
