The Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association (PPNBD) officially sent off its national contingent to represent the Sultanate at the 3rd International Jamboree of Muslim Scout Fellowship in the United Kingdom, scheduled to take place from July 23 to 26, 2026.
The PPNBD contingent comprises two Rover Scouts – Mohd Jahir Qawiem Na’imullah Abdullah from the Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan Rover Scout Group and Awangku Shariffuddin bin Pengiran Damit from the Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali Rover Scout Group.
The flag presentation and send-off ceremony was held at Brunei International Airport, symbolising the nation’s support and confidence in the scouts as they prepare to represent Brunei on the international stage.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by welcoming remarks from PPNBD International Commissioner Skip Ritchie Siabu, who expressed hope that the contingent’s participation would strengthen international friendships while promoting Brunei Darussalam and the Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association globally.
Chief Commissioner of PPNBD Skip Haji Junaidi bin Haji Hussin delivering words of encouragement, reminded the participants to uphold discipline, embody the values of scouting and serve as young ambassadors for the country by demonstrating exemplary character, unity and leadership throughout the jamboree.
The highlight of the ceremony was the symbolic presentation of the Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association flag by the Chief Commissioner to the contingent, signifying the trust and responsibility entrusted to them in representing the nation abroad.
The ceremony concluded with the recitation of Doa Selamat, seeking Allah the Almighty’s blessings for a safe journey and a successful participation in the event. – Lyna Mohamad
