Bruneian duo win inaugural BFT MENA Mixed Rookie title

Bruneian duo Muhammad Badi’uzzaman bin Abdul Lattif and Dayangku Amal Fatin Aqillah binti Pengiran Jeffry made history by winning the Mixed Rookie category at the inaugural Body Fit Training (BFT) Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Podium Series #1 in Doha, Qatar.

The first-of-its-kind competition attracted more than 200 participants from across the region, competing in Male, Female and Mixed categories, each divided into Rookie, Open and Pro levels.

Athletes were tested across four zones designed to challenge their strength, endurance and aerobic capacity in a demanding functional fitness competition.

Competing against athletes from across the MENA region, the Bruneian pair emerged victorious in the Mixed Rookie category, securing a podium finish while representing Brunei on the international stage.

The duo said Brunei’s growing fitness scene and the participation of fellow Bruneians in overseas competitions had inspired them to take on the challenge.

“We’re even more proud to represent the country as the only Bruneians there with a podium finish at our first competition together,” they said.

They expressed hope that their achievement would encourage more Bruneians to push their limits and participate in sporting events around the world.
