A business in Belait was issued a warning notice for selling price-controlled cooking oil and formulated powdered milk above the prescribed maximum prices.
The notice was issued following a joint enforcement operation by the Department of Economic Planning and Statistics (JPES), through its Department of Consumer Affairs, and the Weights and Measures Unit (SDT) at business premises in Kampong Sungai Liang and Kampong Lumut.
The monthly operation aims to strengthen a fair and transparent business environment by ensuring compliance with the Price Control Act, Chapter 142, its regulations, and the Weights and Measures Act, Chapter 151.
JPES said the business was found to have sold cooking oil and formulated powdered milk above the prescribed maximum prices.
The department and SDT Unit also thanked members of the public for submitting complaints with supporting documents, including proof of purchase.
