The Pekan Tutong Celebration Festival 2026 was organised at the areas of Pentas Diraja of the Tutong District Civic Hall Complex on Saturday night, in conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 80th Birthday Celebration.
Organised by the Tutong District Office, Tutong Municipal Department, and the Tutong District Development and Creative Body, in collaboration with the Mukim and Village Consultative Councils of Tutong District, the event serves as a platform to encourage the participation of all segments of the community and residents of Tutong District in celebrating the occasion as an expression of their loyalty and devotion to the monarch.
The festival saw a Community, Cultural and Arts Parade, a fireworks display, and a bazaar.
The event is also expected to drive the socio-economic growth of the local community, particularly micro, small and medium enterprises, through the bazaar.
It also contributes to strengthening Pekan Tutong’s position as a strategic and attractive centre for business and tourism.
Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Haji Mohamad Danial @ Tekpin bin Ya’akub, who is also Penghulu of Mukim Ukong, was the guest of honour.
Acting Tutong District Officer Haji Mohammad Sofian bin Haji Basri and Ambassador-Designate of China to Brunei Darussalam Chen Shaochun were also present. – James Kon
