This time, News At Ten highlights a famous dessert, cendol which is the 1K1P product of Kampung Bukit Sawat Consultative Council, Belait District.
As a source of income for Dayang Nurul Afizah binti Kamarulzaman for the past five years, her cendol is well-known by residents from other districts. Orders are often placed for cendol, as it is one of the popular items that are served during any functions.
Cendol is certainly suitable as 1K1P product given its popularity, and the basic items to produce it are also easily available. Marketing techniques also play an important role in ensuring that a product can capture the attention of customers.
With the existence of 1K1P product like this, it is can help generate income for the villagers, and at the same time, elevate local desserts.
