The second National Civic Programme for the 2025/2026 session concluded with a certificate presentation ceremony at the Auditorium Hall of the Information Department recently.
Acting Director of Information Haji Fathi Foad bin Dato Seri Setia Haji Abu Bakar, the guest of honour, presented the certificates.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat led by one of the programme participants ‘Abdul Majid bin Haji Shazli.
Meanwhile, Head of the Civic Programme Participants Awangku Mohammad Ammar Zakwan bin Pengiran Mohammad Ariffin said the participants had embarked on a meaningful journey filled with valuable lessons through the briefings and visits conducted throughout the programme. He said the programme content was comprehensive, covering various aspects of nationhood, religion, society and the economy in support of the achievement of Brunei Vision 2035.
Throughout the programme, participants attended briefings. They also took part in team-building activities organised by the Department of Youth and Sports, sessions with local entrepreneurs and content creators, and visits to several institutions and organisations.
As part of efforts to foster civic awareness and a spirit of volunteerism among participants, the programme also incorporated community activities. These included a cleaning campaign at Siandang Beach in Jerudong, followed by activities with residents of Kampong Jerudong ‘B’, including traditional gasing games and the preparation of traditional food such as kelupis and dalamu.
In addition to providing participants with a better understanding of the country’s philosophy, aspirations and national objectives, the programme was also designed to prepare the younger generation for the working world by exposing them to national values, leadership and social responsibility. The programme aimed to provide participants with new experiences, including exposure to different sociocultural backgrounds, beliefs and customs that may influence their way of life.
