Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (Perbadanan TAIB) signed collaboration agreements with RUA AlHaram AlMakki Company (RUA AlHaram AlMakki) and RUA Al Madinah Holding (Rua Al Madinah) during a ceremony at The Empire Brunei, to provide a basis to explore investment and development opportunities in the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah as well as potential reciprocal investment opportunities in Brunei Darussalam.
The signing ceremony was attended by Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Haji Mohammad Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, who is also advisor to Perbadanan TAIB and Deputy Chairman of its Board of Directors, and Permanent Secretary (Coordinating for Economic Policies) at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry Datin Hajah Hasnah binti Haji Ibrahim, who is the Managing Director of Perbadanan TAIB.
The Saudi delegation was led by Head of Local Real Estate Investments Division Saad Alkroud; Head of Portfolio Management West Coast, from the Public Investment Fund Naif Alhamdan; Chief Executive Officer of RUA AlHaram AlMakki Bambang Kajairi; and Chief Executive Officer of Rua Al Madinah Ahmed Al Juhani.
Two collaboration agreements were signed during the ceremony. The bilateral agreement between Perbadanan TAIB and RUA AlHaram AlMakki was signed by Datin Hajah Hasnah and Bambang Kajairi, witnessed by Director General of the Public Service Department and member of the Board of Directors of Perbadanan TAIB Dr Norfarizal bin Othman together with Saad Alkroud.
The bilateral agreement provides a framework to explore a potential investment and development opportunity within King Salman Gate. Located adjacent to Al-Masjid Al-Haram in Makkah, the development includes residential, hospitality and retail uses.
The tripartite agreement between Perbadanan TAIB, RUA AlHaram AlMakki and Rua Al Madinah was signed by Datin Hajah Hasnah, Bambang Kajairi and Ahmed Al Juhani, and witnessed by Dr Norfarizal, Saad Alkroud and Naif Alhamdan respectively.
The tripartite agreement provides a framework to explore wider opportunities connected to developments in Makkah and Madinah, including the Rua Al Madinah Project east of Al-Masjid Al-Nabawi, while also opening avenues for reciprocal investment in Brunei Darussalam.
As Perbadanan TAIB marks 35 years of service, these agreements reflect its commitment to building strategic partnerships that extend its reach beyond the country and strengthen ties between Brunei and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The agreements provide greater opportunities for Bruneians to fulfil their aspirations of undertaking the sacred journeys of haj and umrah.
