Village residents and Kampong Sungai Hanching Mosque Takmir Committee members participated in a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony at the mosque yesterday to commemorate the recitation of all 30 juzuk of Al-Quran.
The event began with the collective recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by Surah Ad-Dhuha to Surah An-Nas recitation led by Kampong Sungai Hanching Mosque head imam Haji Abdul Malik bin Haji Jumaat.
He also led the Khatam prayer as well as Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam.
The ceremony also featured a Dikir Marhaban performance led by members of the mosque’s takmir committee, Khatam participants and attendees.
The ceremony was held as part of the takmir committee’s efforts to foster greater love and appreciation for Al-Quran, while strengthening unity among the mosque committee members, congregants and residents. Legislative Council member and Patron of the Kampong Sungai Hanching Mosque Takmir Committee Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman was the guest of honour.
