The digital age offers enormous opportunities, but it also presents new kinds of risks, with the rise of cyberbullying, the mental-health impacts of online comparison, and even the exploitation of children. These are not isolated incidents; they are emerging patterns that require thoughtful, coordinated and compassionate responses and at the same time respects basic human rights. Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Paduka Dayang Hajah Nor Hashimah binti Haji Mohammed Taib, the Attorney General stressed this during the Consultation on the Right to Mental Health in the Digital Age, focusing on the protection of children's mental health. The consultation was hosted by the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights, AICHR. The Attorney General's Chambers have a shared responsibility to protect children in the digital era. The consultation was held this morning at a hotel in Gadong.

 

Meanwhile, Awang Ajman bin Haji Meludin, Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office emphasised the importance of protecting children's mental health in the digital age with a balanced approach. The consultation featured five thematic discussions, including Digital Dilemma and Protecting Children from Online Threats.
