Consumer Price Index September 2025

The Consumer Price Index, CPI in September 2025 recorded an increase of 0.03 per cent compared to September 2024. According to the Department of Economic Planning and Statistics, JPES, Ministry of Finance and Economy, it was driven by an increase of 0.4 per cent in the Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages index, while the Non-Food index recorded a decrease of 0.1 per cent.

 

The increase in the Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages index was mainly contributed by an increase in the prices of Fruits, particularly fresh tropical fruits; Coffee, Tea and Cocoa; and Fish and Seafood, mainly fresh prawns.

 

As for the Non-Food index, the decrease was driven by prices of Clothing and Footwear; Miscellaneous Goods and Services, particularly vehicle insurance; and Furnishings, Household Equipment and Routine Household Maintenance.

 

On a month-on-month basis, the CPI in September 2025 increased by 0.4 per cent compared to August 2025. This was driven by increases in the Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages index; and the Non-Food index.
