Brunei Darussalam is currently in the monsoon transition phase, which will normally continue until the end of May 2026. Since 8th April, no significant rainfall has been recorded at the Weather Observation Station at Brunei International Airport. So far, the total rainfall recorded for April 2026 is 65.7 millimetres, 70 per cent lower than the normal average for April which is 242 millimetres.
Brunei Darussalam experienced extremely hot weather conditions for four days from 14th to 17th April 2026. For this month, several Automatic Weather Observation Stations, Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department recorded the highest daily maximum temperature of at least 35 degrees Celsius. Rainfall activity is expected to occur in several areas of the country. However, the weather conditions are forecast to return to hot and dry until this weekend with minimal rainfall activity occurring especially in the interior areas. Meanwhile, the daily maximum temperature is expected to be in the range of 33 degrees Celsius to 37 degrees Celsius. The public is advised to pay attention and take appropriate measures as the hot and dry weather conditions are expected to continue until this weekend.
