In conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 80th Birthday Celebration, Sengkurong Sixth Form Centre organised the His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Portrait Painting Competition, which saw Muhammad Syafiq Aiman bin Rosmadi announced as the winner with his artwork ‘Raja Berdaulat’.
Meanwhile, second place was awarded to Esther Elisha binti Jechonia, while third place went to Siti Nurhasmah Rabiatul binti Muhammad Zulkamal.
Muhammad Syafiq Aiman said he spent more than 50 hours completing the artwork. He shared, “By participating in this competition, I had the opportunity to develop my artistic talent and creativity while gaining valuable experience.
“The competition also boosted my confidence in producing meaningful works of art. I would not have achieved this victory without the support of my parents and the guidance of my teachers.”
The competition aimed to cultivate patriotism and appreciation for His Majesty through visual art. It also sought to nurture students’ creativity, artistic talent, and technical skills in portrait painting.
