His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, continued His Royal Highness’ official itinerary under the 12th Singapore-Brunei Young Leaders’ Programme (YLP) in Singapore on Wednesday.
His Royal Highness began the day’s programme with a visit to SAFTI City, followed by a meeting with Chairman of Temasek Holdings Teo Chee Hean. Concluding the day’s events, His Royal Highness toured the Temasek Shophouse to observe sustainable and community-driven social impact projects.
VISIT TO SAFTI CITY
Upon arrival at SAFTI City, His Royal Highness was received by Acting Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs and Senior Minister of State for Defence of Singapore Zaqy Mohamad.
During the tour of SAFTI City, His Royal Highness was presented with a briefing that highlighted the close, long-standing defence cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and Singapore, as well as the integration of advanced technologies in modern training methodologies.
The visit featured demonstrations of specialised battlefield simulation equipment and next-generation unmanned aerial systems (drones). Highlighting SAFTI City’s focus on realistic operational readiness, His Royal Highness observed the use of smart instrumentation, operated a drone, and actively participated in hands-on sniper target shooting exercises.
Launched in March 2025, SAFTI City is the Singapore Armed Forces’ (SAF) next-generation smart facility for realistic urban operations training. It supports built-up environments for homeland security, counter-terrorism, and disaster relief. The facility integrates modern battlefield technologies, including drones, robotics, smart instrumentation, and battlefield effects simulators, to enhance tactical readiness.
MEETING WITH THE CHAIRMAN OF TEMASEK HOLDINGS AND VISIT TO TEMASEK SHOPHOUSE
In the afternoon, His Royal Highness proceeded to the Temasek Holdings corporate office, where His Royal Highness was welcomed upon arrival by Chairman of Temasek Holdings Teo Chee Hean.
During the visit, His Royal Highness held a four-eye meeting with Chairman Teo Chee Hean to exchange views on matters of mutual interest. Following the discussions, His Royal Highness met with members of Temasek Holdings and was presented with a briefing that focused on the organisation’s institutional initiatives, strategic programmes as well as sustainability commitments.
Concluding the afternoon’s programme at Temasek Holdings, His Royal Highness proceeded to the Temasek Shophouse and was greeted upon arrival by Chairman of Temasek Trust Ho Ching. Led by the Chief Executive Officer of Temasek Trust, the guided tour highlighted the venue’s heritage preservation, sustainable design, and community-driven social impact features.
Temasek Shophouse is a social impact hub owned by Temasek Trust, the philanthropic arm of Temasek Holdings. The building blends historic local heritage with modern spaces for community, social, and environmental projects. Following major renovations, the hub reopened in September 2025. It later added a new outdoor green space in March 2026 showcasing eco-friendly features like solar panels and rainwater collection.
