DPMM FC suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of defending champions Johor Darul Ta’zim FC in the first-leg semi-final match of the Malaysia FA Cup at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in front of a high turnout of 13,000 fans on Friday night.

DPMM FC will need to overcome the 2-0 aggregate deficit when they face Johor Darul Ta’zim FC in the second-leg semi-final match of the Malaysia FA Cup at Stadium Sultan Ibrahim, Iskandar Puteri on November 8, 2026.

Captain Azwan Ali Rahman was forced to miss the match, serving a one-match suspension for two yellow cards collected in previous games.

In the early exchanges, Johor Darul Ta’zim FC created several early opportunities, but their attempts narrowly missed the target.

In the 21st minute, the visitors took the lead following a defensive lapse by DPMM FC. Prolific striker Bergson Gustavo Silveira da Silva capitalised on the opportunity, pouncing on a loose ball inside the box and firing it into the net.

After the break, Johor Darul Ta’zim FC doubled their lead when Pascual Israfilov Eddy Silvestre headed home from close range at the far post. The goal came after Bergson Gustavo Silveira da Silva laid the ball into his path, following Rui Filipe da Cunha Correia’s effort that struck the crossbar.
