Motorcycle, new vehicle models unveiled as Suzuki Motors Brunei marks brand’s 50th anniversary

Suzuki Brunei on Thursday celebrated its 50th anniversary with the official introduction of Suzuki Motors Brunei, marking the brand’s return to two-wheeled vehicles after five decades built on four.

Ambassador of Japan to Brunei Darussalam Kikuta Yutaka attended the ceremony held at Airport Mall Atrium alongside senior representatives from Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan, and members of Brunei’s local motorcycle community.

Suzuki’s motorcycle business has grown significantly across ASEAN, now the world’s second-largest motorcycle market with annual sales of 13 million units. As part of its ambition to reach 400,000 units in annual sales across the region by 2030, Suzuki has identified Brunei as an important addition to this growth story.

The event unveiled two new Suzuki vehicles, the Alto and Every, alongside five motorcycle models marking the brand’s return to two wheels in Brunei: the GSX-8T, GSX-S1000GX, V-Strom 1050DE, Burgman 400, and the Suzuki Hayabusa. The initial line-up centres on big bike models made in Japan, including Suzuki’s flagship Hayabusa.

“At Boustead Sdn Bhd, we back every Suzuki motorcycle with total commitment before it hits the road with uncompromised support, where no new model launches without fully trained technicians, expert service advisors, and specialised tools in place.

“Furthermore, Suzuki motorcycle is Built for Every Journey: whether powering your business fleet or elevating your daily commute, Suzuki’s renowned durability delivers ultimate peace of mind. Reliability isn’t just our promise – it’s our standard,” said General Manager, Sales, Boustead Adehelmie Jaafar. “Brunei is an important market in this vision. In the initial stage, we plan to introduce big bike models made in Japan, such as our flagship model, the Hayabusa, and other motorcycles that embody Suzuki’s brand value and the excitement of riding.

“Then, step-by-step, we would like to expand the line-up by adding small bikes such as Satria and etc as well, so that Suzuki can meet a wider range of customer needs,” said Managing Officer and Executive General Manager of Motorcycle Operations, Suzuki Motor Corporation Takashi Ise. The Suzuki motorcycle showroom will be located in Gadong, with the dedicated Service Centre at Boustead’s main office in Beribi Industrial Complex. Both facilities are expected to be fully operational by end of September 2026.
