Dialogue bridges government, business community

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) and the French Bruneian Business Association (FBBA) held its second dialogue session ‘Striding Forward: A Dialogue with the Ministry of Home Affairs Part II’, at the Multipurpose Hall, Level 6, MoHA yesterday.

The dialogue session served as a bridge for association members to be updated on government policies for what matters to the business, commercial and professional world as stakeholders of the economy is to have pertinent information to move and to be able to work in tandem with the government machinery.

Building on the inaugural dialogue held in 2025, the session provided a platform for both parties to exchange views, share perspectives and strengthen mutual understanding on matters of common interest, particularly relating to immigration, manpower and employment administration, as well as processes relevant to business operations in Brunei Darussalam.

During the dialogue, discussion covered matters concerning professional visa, long-term visa arrangement and foreign worker licensing procedures.

The session also provided an opportunity for the ministry to further share information and clarify existing immigration and foreign worker licensing procedures, including application requirement and processing arrangements, while FBBA representatives shared practical experiences, feedback and perspectives from the business community.

The dialogue underscored the importance of maintaining constructive engagement between the government and the business community while reaffirming the value of continued cooperation and mutual understanding in addressing shared interests and supporting Brunei Darussalam’s broader economic and social development.

Permanent Secretary (Security, Enforcement and Legal) at the MoHA Nor Hamidah binti Haji Hamidon and Permanent Secretary (Social and Manpower Policies) at the MoHA Siti Norashikin binti Mohd Salleh co-chaired the dialogue session.
