In commemoration of the birthday anniversary of Prophet Muhammad Shallallahu 'Alaihi Wasallam celebrated every 12th of Rabiulawal, all mosques, surau and religious halls in the country resounded with the Dikir Maulud. The Opening Ceremony of the Dikir Maulud was held on 24th August night at Jame' 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah, Kampung Kiarong, at the same time marking the start of the 12-nightly Dikir Syarafil Anam ceremonies at all mosques, surau and religious halls nationwide.
The reading of Surah Al- Fatihah was led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs, followed by a Tazkirah or short talk on the advantages of Selawat.
The ceremony continued with a Dikir presentation.
