The nightly Dikir ceremony in conjunction with the Maulidur Rasul celebration for 1448 Hijrah, held for 12 consecutive nights at mosques, suraus and prayer halls nationwide, concluded on Tuesday night.
To mark the Closing Ceremony of the Dikir Maulud, a ceremony was held at Baitur Rahmah, Istana Nurul Iman, officiated in the presence of Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz bin Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, led by Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hamidon bin Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Hamid, followed by the recitation of Dikir Syarafil Anam, led by Begawan-Begawan Pehin Khatib and Begawan-Begawan Mudim.
It then continued with Dikir prayer, also recited by Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hamidon, while the Doa Selamat was recited by Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Awang Haji Salim bin Haji Besar.
The ceremony continued with presenting respects to the Head of the Ceremony to commence the proceedings, and then closing of the ceremony by Pehin Penyurat Awang Maidin bin Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Hamid.
In marking the significance of the closing ceremony, 21 cannon shots were fired by the Royal Brunei Armed Forces’ personnel, which were fired intermittently in accordance with the recitations, up to “Ya Habibi” during the performance of Dikir Marhaban.
