The atmosphere at the Surau of Istana Nurul Iman was enlivened Tuesday evening with the recitation of Dikir Maulud as part of the celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) for the year 1448 Hijrah, with the sixth night attended by 225 people.
Among those attending the Dikir ceremony was Acting Minister of Home Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha. The gathering also comprised members from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Fire and Rescue Department, the Village Consultative Council of Kampong Berakas, the Takmir mosque committee of KBM Masjid PDI Haji Abd Mokti Burong Pingai Ayer and STKRJ Kampong Lambak Kiri Mosque, and the Religious School Division of JPI Brunei III.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by the recitation of verses from Al-Quran.
The programme continued with the religious talk ‘Menyemai Cinta Rasulullah SAW’ which explored the history of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) through the theme ‘Tiga Kunci Keberkatan Hidup’ delivered by Muhammad Syahirul Syafiq bin Rashid.
The event continued with performances of Dikir Assalamualaika, Dikir Asyrakal, Dikir Khairuman and other Dikir recitations, before concluding with the recitation of Doa Dikir and Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam.
The Dikir Maulud is part of a series of activities being held over 12 consecutive nights, culminating on 12 Rabiulawal 1448 Hijrah, corresponding to August 24, 2026.
