The second night of the Dikir ceremony in conjunction with the Maulidur Rasul celebration was held at the Surau of Istana Nurul Iman yesterday evening.
The ceremony is part of a series of 12 consecutive nights of events culminating on 12th of Rabiulawal 1448 Hijrah, corresponding to August 24, 2026.
Coordinating Minister for National Security, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof was present.
The participants comprised 60 members of the male congregation, 30 female guests from the Association of Wives of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (BAKTI), and another 30 from the Mukim Serasa Consultative Council and Village Consultative Councils.
The gathering also involved personnel from the Ministry of Defence (MinDef), members of the National Mosque Youth Committee and the National Mosque Women’s Youth Committee, as well as religious teachers from the Arabic Schools Division of the Department of Islamic Studies (JPI).
The programme commenced with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by verses from Al-Quran.
A religious talk titled ‘Menyemai Cinta Rasulullah SAW’ was delivered by Haji Muhammad Najib bin Haji Awang. The event continued with performances of Dikir Assalamualaika and Dikir Asyrakal by the MinDef. Dikir Khairuman was presented by the Islamic Religious Body alongside the Pengkalan Batu Mukim Consultative Council, followed by further dikir performances by the National Mosque Youth Committee and religious teachers from the Religious Schools Division (Brunei I) of the JPI.
The ceremony concluded with the recitation of the Dikir prayer and the Doa Peliharakan Sultan, expressing gratitude and prayers for the continued well-being and good health of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. – James Kon
