Discussion on Human-Crocodile Conflict Issue

 

 


 

Aquaculture operators are urged to give their commitment and cooperation in reducing the pressure of the human-crocodile conflict by practicing proper safety measures and knowing the correct information distribution procedures. The call was made during a discussion with aquaculture operators to address the issue of human-crocodile conflict in Brunei Darussalam waters 26th January morning. The discussion was conducted by the Fisheries Department in collaboration with the Wildlife Division, Forestry Department, Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism.

 

Present were Dayang Hajah  Wanidawati  binti  Haji  Tamat, Acting Director of Fisheries and Awang  Reni bin  Haji  Yahya, Acting Director of Forestry. The discussion aimed to raise public awareness and inform of the steps to be practiced in reducing the risk of conflict at aquaculture sites that are often the location for crocodiles.
