The World Post Day is celebrated every 9th of October to commemorate the importance and role of postal services in the lives of society. The Postal Services Department held a reading of Surah Yassin, Tahlil and Doa Kesyukuran ceremony in conjunction with the 151st World Post Day celebration. It took place at the International Airport Surau in Berakas, 9th October afternoon.
Present was Awang Haji Mohammad Salihin bin Haji Aspar, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Transport at Ministry of Transport and Info-communications. The event included the mass fardhu Asar prayer. This year's celebration is themed: "Post For People: Local Service. Global Reach." which emphasised the post as an important public service and has the ability to reach the entire world.
