Doa Kesyukuran ceremony celebrates new graduates

Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (ITQSHHB) held its 14th Haflut Takharruj Doa Kesyukuran Ceremony yesterday, celebrating the successful completion of studies by its 2023-2026 cohort.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa, led by lecturer for the Diploma ‘Aliyah Qiraat programme at ITQSHHB Dr Sheikh Haji Muti’a Al-Kabbani Mahmoud.

Principal of ITQSHHB and Chairman of the 14th Haflut Takharruj organising committee Pengiran Dr Haji Amiruddin bin Pengiran Haji Damit noted that the success of this year’s graduates is a source of great gratitude, reflecting their hard work, discipline and sacrifices throughout their years of study.

He added that such achievements would not have been possible without the prayers and blessings of their parents and guardians, the guidance and knowledge imparted by lecturers and teachers, as well as the support of the entire institute community.

This year’s graduates are particularly significant as they are the first cohort since the programme was upgraded to the Diploma Tertinggi ‘Aliyah Qiraat.

They have not only become part of the institute’s history of academic development and achievement, but their accomplishments also set an important benchmark for future generations.

“Adding further significance to their achievement, the graduates have produced a scholarly publication, drawing on the knowledge and learning gained over three years of study.”

The publication, he added, goes beyond being a physical book, incorporating digital technology through a link and QR code that allows readers to access audio recordings of the relevant Qiraat recitations featured in the book.

This commendable initiative demonstrates how knowledge acquired through theory can be translated into practical application through the production of a beneficial scholarly work.

It represents a meaningful contribution to preserving and sharing the treasures of knowledge, guided by the blessings and teachings of Al-Quran, for the benefit of future generations.

The publication contributed by the 14th cohort of Diploma Tertinggi ‘Aliyah Qiraat graduates, ‘Quran Recitation with the 10 Qiraat and Introduction to the Imams of Qiraat, Surah Al-Fatihah Edition’ was presented to Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Haji Mohammad Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, who is also Chairman of the ITQSHHB Board and Chairman of the Executive Committee for the 14th Haflut Takharruj 1448H/2026M, the guest of honour, during the ceremony.

The ceremony continued with the presentation of the Diploma Tertinggi ‘Aliyah Qiraat Excellence Award, followed by certificates of appreciation to sponsors of the 14th Haflut Takharruj and concluded with a Doa Kesyukuran led by Dr Sheikh Haji Muti’a Al-Kabbani Mahmoud.

Attorney General Datin Paduka Hajah Nor Hashimah binti Haji Mohammed Taib, a member of the ITQSHHB Board; Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) Dr Haji Mohammed Hussain bin Pehin Penyurat Haji Ahmad; and Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religion) at the MoRA Haji Shamshol bin Haji Omar were also present.
