The Ministry of Education, in partnership with the Delegation of the European Union, EU, held the second edition of the EU-Brunei Cooperation in Higher Education and Research webinar on the 27th of August. The webinar highlighted three key EU-funded programmes namely 'Erasmus Mundus'; 'Horizon Europe' and Erasmus plus International Credit Mobility, which offers learning opportunities, scholarships, and collaboration in Europe to students and researchers.
In his welcoming remarks, Doctor Haji Azman bin Ahmad, Permanent Secretary for Higher Education at the Ministry of Education underscored the importance of global academic collaboration, with the EU emerging as a key partner in academic mobility, joint research, and curriculum innovation. The webinar also included sharing sessions from former scholarship recipients as well as speeches from EU representatives and local education leaders who emphasised the importance of global academic collaboration. The webinar aims to strengthen ties between universities in the country and Europe as well as encourage academic exchanges and joint research projects.
