False Information regarding the launch of an Investigation Platform

The Ministry of Finance and Economy informed that the article published on the website 'www.capital-brain-ai.pro', titled “Brunei Darussalam government launches government bond platform" and dated 6 October 2025, is FALSE. The public is strongly advised to exercise caution and not to easily trust such articles without first verifying the authenticity of the information.

 

According to the ministry, the act of cheating by impersonation is punishable under Section 419 of the Penal Code, Chapter 22 and carries a penalty of imprisonment for a term not exceeding 7 years and fine, upon conviction. In addition, disseminating false information that can likely cause public alarm is a criminal offence under Section 34 of the Public Order Act, Chapter 148 that carries a penalty of a fine of $3,000 Brunei Dollars or 3 years imprisonment or both. To report any suspicious financial activities, contact Brunei Darussalam Central Bank, BDCB or the Anti-Scam at 16993. If anyone have fallen victim to a scam, they are advised to immediately report it to the bank or financial institution, as well as to the Royal Brunei Police Force.
