The Village Consultative Council (MPK) of Kampong Pandan C hosted the One Kampung One Product (1K1P) Weekend Pop-Up to promote small local businesses and create a lively, family-friendly community gathering in Belait District.
Held at the Kedai 1K1P parking area as well as along part of the closed-off Jalan McKerron, Belait District, on October 3 and 4, the weekend pop-up intended to revitalise the area surrounding the 1K1P shop by providing a platform for local small businesses to showcase and sell their products.
Village Head of Kampong Pandan ‘C’ Abdul Faiz Ariffin bin Haji Mohammad explained that in addition to sales activities, the programme featured family-oriented activities, children’s games, recreational activities and sports-related activities.
“Among the main aims of the programme were to promote the 1K1P shop to the public, support local small businesses through an affordable sales platform, create a suitable weekend destination for families and establish a platform for economic and community activities,” he explained.
One of the event’s highlights included a Pound Fitness Showcase held yesterday. Abdul Faiz Ariffin adding that the weekend activities also served as a trial for similar events to be held monthly in the surrounding area.
“We also hope to organise similar events and activities each month, as we work to organise one on November 21 and 22 at the Kedai 1K1P.”
