In an effort to strengthen a more community-oriented approach to dakwah (Islamic outreach), the Islamic Da’wah Centre, the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA), through its Tutong District Da’wah Branch, in collaboration with the Tutong District New Converts Association (PESATU) and the Village Consultative Councils (MPK) of Tanjong Maya and Lubok Pulau, organised the ‘Sungdai Ga PESATU’ PESATU Community Fest 2026 programme, at the PESATU Multipurpose Hall in Kampong Tanjong Panjang, Mukim Tanjong Maya, Tutong District.
The festival was officiated by Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Haji Mohammad Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan.
The community festival centred on dakwah, brought together elements of Islamic outreach, entrepreneurship, culture and family activities in a relaxed, inclusive and community-friendly environment.
The festival aimed to introduce PESATU to the wider community as an active community centre involved in Islamic outreach, social activities and community development, while also serving as a platform to strengthen ukhuwah, promote Islamic outreach through wisdom, empower the community and provide sustainable benefits to the society. The event began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar, Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam, led by an instructor at the PESATU Converts Guidance Class, Muhammad Didi Sufian bin Haji Masri.
The programme continued with a welcoming speech by the President of PESATU and event Co-Chairman Haji Hasbie Azrol bin Abdullah Liat, followed by a nasyid performance by association members.
Permanent Secretary at the MoRA Dr Haji Mohammed Hussain bin Pehin Penyurat Haji Ahmad and Acting Secretary of the Brunei Islamic Religious Council Pengiran Ahmad Faris Ramadhani bin Pengiran Haji Sellahuddin were present.
