Fifty-two mangrove saplings planted at Serasa Beach

Brunei Methanol Company Sdn Bhd (BMC) organised a mangrove tree planting initiative under the Carbon Akar Mangrove Restoration Project at Serasa Beach on Wednesday as part of its Health, Safety, Security and Environment Week 2026.

Building on its tree planting efforts over the past three consecutive years, BMC organised its first mangrove planting initiative under the project, with 52 saplings planted at Serasa Beach. The event also included a beach clean-up activity, where participants came together to collect 198 kilogrammes of rubbish. The initiatives aim to raise awareness, encourage collective responsibility and contribute to the preservation of natural ecosystems for future generations.

Director of Process Safety Division of the Safety, Health and Environment National Authority Hairol Nizam bin Mokti and Acting Deputy Director of the Parks and Recreation Division at the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation Muhammad Akmal Fikri Yusra were present.
