A full rehearsal was held on Thursday morning at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien in the capital in preparation for the smooth running of the National-Level Maulidur Rasul Celebration for 1448 Hijrah.
The celebration will be held simultaneously in all four districts on Tuesday, 12 Rabiulawal 1448 Hijrah, corresponding to August 25, 2026, with the main event taking place at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien.
The programme will begin at 7am with an assembly followed by the traditional procession.
Present to observe the full rehearsal was the Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Haji Mohammad Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, in his capacity as Chairman of the Supreme Committee for National-Level Islamic Celebrations and the National Adult Al-Quran Reading Competition for 1448 Hijrah.
Also present were the Coordinating Minister for National Security, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof; Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office (Civil Service Governance) Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad; Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office (Security and Law) Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Sufian bin Haji Sabtu; and Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office (Energy, Upstream and Downstream) Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Mohamad Azmi bin Haji Mohd Hanifah.
Permanent secretaries, deputy permanent secretaries from the co-organising agencies and members of the Supreme Committee also attended the rehearsal.
The national celebration is jointly organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and the Brunei Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
This year’s theme is “Rasulullah Shallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam Suluh Aqidah.”
Held annually on 12 Rabiulawal, the Maulidur Rasul celebration aims to strengthen and promote Islamic values in the Sultanate while commemorating the birth of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
This year’s celebration will once again be held simultaneously across all four districts, with the main gathering taking place in the capital.
