Over 400 residents from across Kampong RPN Lumut gathered to walk, run and cycle during the second edition of ‘Kampungku Cergas’ on Saturday, starting near the communication tower along Jalan Bilaran in Kampong RPN Lumut.
Village Head of Kampong RPN Lumut 3 Rosli bin Haji Jais said the event marks the second time the MPK has hosted such a gathering, with the previous held in June this year.
“The second edition of Kampungku Cergas is an eagerly anticipated event among residents following the overwhelming and encouraging response to its inaugural edition, which aimed to promote a healthy lifestyle among the community.”
He said booths and vendors featuring local entrepreneurs and businesses from across the village were also invited to showcase local handmade products.
Organised by the Village Consultative Council of Kampong RPN Lumut 3, the event provided an opportunity for residents to spend time with friends and family while promoting a healthy lifestyle through walking, running, and cycling.
Acting Belait District Officer Muhammad Faiq bin Haji Rani officiated the event.
Legislative Council member and Penghulu of Mukim Bukit Sawat Yang Berhormat Haji Mohd Salleh bin Haji Othman and Acting Assistant Belait District Officer Pengiran Kamal Ariffin bin Pengiran Haji Yassin were also present.
