Five foreign nationals detained in Kuala Belait operations

Five foreign nationals were detained during three operations conducted in Kuala Belait under Operasi Kakas 2026 and a joint operation with the Department of Manpower and Employment.

During Operasi Kakas 99/2026 at three locations in Mukim Liang, 23 foreign nationals were inspected. One was detained for failing to produce valid documents as required under Section 55(4)(a), (b) and (c) of the Immigration Act, Chapter 17.

Another foreign national was detained during Operasi Kakas 101/2026 in Mukim Belait for further investigation after being suspected of breaching Regulation 15(3) of the Immigration Regulations, Chapter 17.

The regulation covers cases where an individual works in a position different from that stated in their passport.

Meanwhile, 12 foreign nationals were inspected during an integrated operation involving the Immigration and National Registration Department and the Department of Manpower and Employment in Mukim Belait.

Three were detained for further investigation after being suspected of the same offence under Regulation 15(3).

All five detainees were brought to the Enforcement Division of the Immigration and National Registration Department’s Kuala Belait Branch for further investigation.
