Hibiscus EP (Brunei) B.V. (HEB) continues to promote sustainable resource management by extending the useful life of its equipment through the donation of used firefighting suits for training purposes. The suits were formally handed over by HEB Production Site Manager Sin Sun Ong to Megamas Training Company Sdn Bhd.

The donation reflects the company’s efforts to maximise the value of its resources by identifying opportunities to repurpose equipment for suitable training and educational activities. By extending the useful life of the firefighting suits, HEB aims to support practical skills development while promoting more responsible resource utilisation.

Megamas Training Company plays an important role in delivering technical and safety-related training, equipping participants with the knowledge and practical competencies required for their respective fields. Access to firefighting suits provides an opportunity for participants to become familiar with protective equipment, understand its application, and strengthen their awareness of firefighting and workplace safety practices.

Through this contribution, the donated suits will support Megamas Training Company training activities, subject to the equipment’s suitability for the intended use. The initiative demonstrates how equipment that is no longer required for its original operational purpose can continue to deliver value when appropriately repurposed, contributing to both skills development and more sustainable resource management.

This initiative forms part of HEB’s broader corporate social responsibility (CSR) approach, which seeks to deliver meaningful contributions through practical partnerships and responsible use of resources. By working with organisations such as Megamas Training Company, the company continues to explore opportunities to create value beyond its day-to-day operations while supporting local training and development needs. The donation aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), through the continued use of equipment for suitable secondary purposes, and SDG 4 (Quality Education), by supporting practical, skills-based learning opportunities.

Through initiatives such as this, HEB remains committed to promoting responsible resource use, supporting skills development, and contributing to a more sustainable and resilient community in Brunei Darussalam.

HEB extends its appreciation to Megamas Training Company for its continued contribution to technical training and safety awareness, and for providing opportunities for equipment to be repurposed in support of practical learning.
