Halal Awareness Programme

To raise community awareness and knowledge on practising the Halalan  Tayyiban principle in food and non-food products management such as cosmetics were among the objectives of the Halal Awareness Programme. On 25th November morning, the Ministry of Religious Affairs, through the Halal Food Control Unit, Tutong District Branch, held such a programme at the Multipurpose Hall of the office.

Over 30 participants comprising new converts and non-muslims from the district attended the programme. It included briefings on the role of Halal Supervisors at the early stage; the need to maintain food quality and the application of Halal Toyyiban in the food or product preparation process. The programme provides an initial understanding of it, especially for individuals who wish to venture into the field of entrepreneurship related to food preparation and the production of halal products.
