Helping hands for family affected by fire

The Kampong Panchor community rallied together to support a family affected by a house fire on Wednesday night, with residents and the public contributing cash donations, essential items and clothing to help ease the family’s immediate needs.

The affected family comprises six adults and seven children aged between two and 10.

Members of the Kampong Panchor Village Consultative Council, together with villagers and members of the public, organised an immediate collection of donations following the incident. Donations collected included cash as well as essential supplies such as dry food and clothing.

Kampong Panchor Village Head Muhammad Adib bin Pehin Datu Indera Setia Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Sulaiman handed over the contributions to head of the family Harun bin Ibrahim. The incident also received assistance from the Tutong District Office and Tutong District Volunteers (SUKA), which contributed clothing to the affected family, and these were handed over by Acting Tutong District Officer Awang Haji Mohd Sofian bin Haji Basri.

The contributions are hoped to help alleviate the family’s burden as they cope with the aftermath of the incident, while providing some of their immediate daily necessities.
