His Majesty arrived in Busan, the Republic of Korea to attend the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting (AELM), which is held on 31st October to 1st November 2025 in Gyeongju. Accompanying His Majesty is His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen. Upon arrival at Gimhae Airbase, His Majesty was honoured with a Static Guard of Honour mounted by the Republic of Korea Air Force Honour Guard, and was greeted by Ambassador Kimo Lim of the Preparatory Office for the APEC 2025.
The arrival of His Majesty was also welcomed by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd. Yusof, Second Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Her Excellency Pengiran Hajah Nooriyah binti Pengiran Lela Wijaya Pengiran Haji Yussof, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to the Republic of Korea.
With the theme “Building a Sustainable Tomorrow: Connect, Innovate, Prosper", the Republic of Korea as host of APEC this year, aims to advance an open, resilient, peaceful Asia-Pacific, in line with the APEC Putrajaya Vision 2040.
