His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, consented to confer state decorations to 35 individuals in conjunction with His Majesty’s 80th Birthday Celebration.
The conferring of these state decorations to 23 male and 12 female recipients took place during an Investiture Ceremony at Balai Singgahsana Indera Kenchana, Istana Nurul Iman yesterday.
His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office; His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office; His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen, Minister of Foreign Affairs; His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah; and His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah also attended.
His Majesty first conferred the Most Honourable Order of Seri Paduka Mahkota Brunei Third Class (SMB) to seven individuals, four male and three female. The recipients include 613 Captain Sonny Iskandar bin Rasani, 614 Captain Haji Nor Ariwwin bin Mohd Ali, Dr Haji Azlan bin Haji Jaludin, Dr Haji Abdul Rashid bin Haji Mohammad, Dr Hajah Rohayati binti Awang Haji Mohd Taib, Hajah Anis Faudzulani binti Haji Dzulkiflee and Siti Rozaimeriyanty binti Dato Seri Laila Jasa Haji Abdul Rahman.
His Majesty then conferred the Most Blessed Order of Setia Negara Brunei Fourth Class (PSB) to 21 recipients, 17 male and four female, and the Most Eminent Order of Islam Brunei Fifth Class (PUB) to seven recipients, two male and five female.
State Mufti Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned recited a Doa Selamat.
Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran-Pengiran Cheteria, Pengiran-Pengiran Peranakan, Cabinet ministers, permanent secretaries, Legislative Council members, senior government officials and members of the Diplomatic Corps were also present at the ceremony.
The conferring of the state decorations to government officials and members of the private sector recognises their dedication and loyalty in rendering services to the Sultanate.
