In conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 80th Birthday Celebration, a group of senior citizen photographers organised a photography exhibition ‘Potret Rakaman Abadi – Raja Kesayangan Kami’ (Portraits of Timeless Memories – Our Beloved Monarch) at the Brunei Energy Hub, Royal Wharf.
Held in collaboration with the Mukim Kianggeh Consultative Council, the exhibition features a collection of historic photographs capturing significant moments of His Majesty’s interactions with the people over the years.
The display reflects the enduring and close relationship between the monarch and the rakyat throughout His Majesty’s reign.
A private viewing session was also held, welcoming invited members of the royal family, dignitaries, and guests to view the collection before it opened to the public.
Visitors to the exhibition can appreciate a series of visual records documenting His Majesty’s reign and the many historic occasions shared with the people.
The exhibition also adds to the festive atmosphere of the national celebration marking His Majesty’s 80th birthday.
Beyond commemorating the occasion, the exhibition serves as an expression of loyalty and devotion to the beloved monarch while preserving Brunei Darussalam’s invaluable visual heritage for future generations. The exhibition was curated by six senior-citizen photographers, comprising Mohd Haranadi bin Haji Buntar, Haji Osman bin Haji Daud, Haji Mohamad Husini bin Haji Bakar, Haji Rusdi bin Haji Abdul Latiff, Haji Mursidi bin Haji Abdul Ghani, and Haji Mohamad bin Haji Sulaiman. – DANIEL LIM
