Brunei wushu athlete Hosea Wong Zheng Yu finished 11th in the men’s taijiquan and taijijian event at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
Hosea recording a combined score of 19.342 was placed 11th among 15 athletes.
His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, Olympic Council of Asia Honorary Executive Board Member and President of the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council, witnessed the competition and conveyed words of encouragement to Hosea and other athletes who are yet to compete. Meanwhile, Mohd Adi Salihin bin Roslan and Abel Lim continued their training sessions on Monday ahead of their events.
Chef de Mission of the Brunei Contingent Nur Iffah Natasha Sofea binti Abdullah said, “Overall, all athletes have continued to demonstrate commitment and discipline throughout their stay here. Coordination with AINAGOC has also become smooth, with the organisers continuing to provide cooperation and assistance to all contingents, although some logistical challenges remained.”
