The afternoon session was attended by Deputy Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Datin Seri Paduka Hajah Tutiaty binti Haji Abdul Wahab and Deputy Minister of Development Datin Seri Paduka Dr Nor Imtihan binti Haji Abdul Razak.

In his speech, Acting Director of Technical Education and IBTE Chief Executive Officer Haji Norjemee bin Jenek said TVET went beyond preparing students for employment, providing opportunities for young people to develop their potential, generate ideas and contribute to industry and society.

He added that its value should not be measured solely by qualifications or employment outcomes, but also by graduates’ ability to apply their knowledge and skills to solve problems, improve work quality and develop practical solutions that support national development.

Haji Norjemee highlighted IBTE’s initiatives to strengthen TVET in response to evolving industry needs, particularly in sustainability, responsible resource use and skills development for the future economy.

He also stressed that sustainability required cooperation among educational institutions, industry, strategic partners and the wider community, adding that strong industry relationships were essential to keeping TVET relevant and responsive to national development needs.

He encouraged graduates to continue learning, apply their skills and use their qualifications as a foundation for wider opportunities, while contributing to society and the country. He also acknowledged the support and sacrifices of parents, guardians and family members throughout the graduates’ studies.

The ceremony also featured the presentation of special awards recognising outstanding achievements.
