Universiti Brunei Darussalam, UBD is organising the International Higher Education Summit and Exhibition on Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Commercialisation, or IHEEIC 2025 at the Chancellor Hall, UBD. The 2-day event is a significant milestone for higher education innovation in Brunei Darussalam and the Southeast Asian region. It is organised by the Office of the Assistant Vice-Chancellor for Industry Engagement and Enterprise Development, IEED, and supported by the Office of the Assistant Vice-Chancellor for Research, Innovation and Sustainability.
It was inaugurated THIS MORNING by Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Doctor Dayang Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd. Salleh, Minister of Education. In a speech, Doctor Haji Masairol Haji Masri, Assistant Vice Chancellor for IEED and Chairperson of the summit's committee said stressed that universities must expand its mission beyond traditional education to become drivers of innovation, technology transfer, and research commercialisation that create real and lasting impact. At the event, UBD signed Memoranda of Understanding with the United Nations Development Programme, Really Corporation Company Limited (SEA Bridge), and GIFT South East Asia Sendirian Berhad.
